But, I could tell you from the outside lookin what I see
Known somebody as a kid and watched them their whole life?
I could givе a good perspective on what that’s likе
He always seemed super happy, was a joker growin up
Though he seemed to have everything, it never was enough
Talented athlete, never put the extra work in
Cause, for some odd reason, it never felt worth it

His grades started droppin, started smokin and drinkin

Then, somewhere along the line, he developed depression
Success became somethin that he cared about less
And from that point on, he stopped tryin, I guess

Certainly had the brains, and just never applied
Could’ve went to a good college, but, he never even tried
It’s like life had him scared of livin
So, he got f#cked up, cause he had dyin early as a vision
Put himself in some lanes he should’ve never even touched
But, at this point, he gives nothin close to a f#ck
You can hear it in his music, if you’re listenin close
There’s a painful truth in every word that he wrote
Livin life like, any moment, he’s just liable to flip
It makes you wonder how long he could smile through this sh#t
It seems to me, that he just don’t wanna deal
He’d rather live on the streets and have to struggle for a meal
And even though there’s a lot of down side in this life
It started really bringin in a lot of things that he liked
Found a beautiful wife, and tried changin his ways
But he’s all about himself, I’m surprised that she stayed
That’s what I saw…
The most selfish thing he ever did was have kids
His most selfless thing was continue to live
I can’t figure him out, he’s got the life of his dreams
When he says things, I’m not sure I know what he means
He daydreams, but, he can’t sleep at night
And everybody around him’s gotta keep that fight
He just don’t like life, and so, it’s bringin him down
An arrogant over-thinker’s what he seems to be now
And his love for music is a gift and a curse
Cause he clearly has talent, but writin this sh#t hurts
He seems stuck in his head, but, he just can’t quit thinkin
In the same type of fashion, like it’s smokin or drinkin
At the end of the day, he thinks he could’ve done better
Didn’t live up to potential, and he started regrettin
Thought he sounded redundant, always complainin he’s hurtin
So, to try and make a point, he spoke in the third person
